Escape the Vacuum was inspired by mythology, physics, and music. I was inspired by how each planet received their name. Most of the planets got their names from either Greek or Roman mythology. They were named after the great gods and goddesses. I incorporated many symbolisms and iconographies that relate to each deity. I wanted to bring the planet alive, give it a personality.

The designs were inspired by how sound is heard. Sound cannot travel in the vacuum of space. It is when we are within our planet's atmosphere that allows sound vibrations to be heard. I decided that giving each planet life would be like giving it a music. So I made each planet into an old style record. The geometric styles of these records can be seen within each page.
